REMEMBER WHEN?...
The Midwest Rampage, who at the time were
5-2, locked up the #2-seed for the 2011 MFA Playoffs when they defeated 6-1
Dubuque Bruisers at home by a score of 28-20. Barely a month earlier
Dubuque had embarrassed the Rampage 46-14, but when Dubuque came to Webster
City, the "Black Plague Defense" SHUT 'EM DOWN!
In sweltering heat that reached
temperatures of 105 degrees, the Rampage overcame a 12-0 deficit in the 1st
quarter to take a 14-12 lead at halftime. Two interception returns for
touchdowns--linebacker Cory Stuhr's MFA record-setting 99-yarder along with
defensive end Caleb Bonjour's 30-yard jaunt--along with touchdown receptions by
WR Chris McNiel and Aron Kliegl made it a game to remember for the Rampage who
eventually advanced to the inaugural MFA championship game after defeating the
Iowa Sharks 40-0 in the Semifinals. |
